I2X Technologies is seeking a Software System Engineer to support ongoing activities for a customer in Huntsville, AL. This position will be onsite and will require an active Secret clearance. Responsible for software systems engineering products for their Scrum Team, including development of software products. Responsible for performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support. Systems Engineering support for team that Maintains, debugs and configures related software products. Works from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications. Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs. Work with SEIT organization to decompose system requirements to good software level requirements. Work with SEIT organization to drive system use cases, conops, and sequences. Work with SEIT organization to develop / update system  external interfaces. Author or assist with proposals. Perform software design - software product level use cases, sequences. Create and maintain software design - Algorithm Design Documents, Functional Design Documents.

  • Bachelors degree with 5+ years of experience, or equivalent. Masters degree with 3+ years of experience desired.
  • IAT - level II is required with in 60 days of starting.
  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) + tools
  • In-depth understanding of systems engineering process and principles.
  • Proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions.
  • Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions.
  • Experience developing system engineering artifacts (e.g. specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, etc.).
  • Candidates should have experience with developing large, complex systems.
  • Software development experience developing applications.
  • Use of common software development and management tools such as git, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, maven or Gradle and Eclipse.
  • Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Command and control system application development.
  • Automated test and pipeline development experience desired.
  • Experience developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Experience with Software Integration testing including developing automated test scripts.
  • Experience with performance modeling.
  • Experience with build management tools and pipelines.
  • Experience working within an Agile development environment, domain experience with both Space and Missile Defense, experience with Systems Analysis, Model Based System Engineering, Architecture development, Virtualization, Containerization, and Cloud Computing principles.
  • Demonstrated experience working large multi-site software development efforts including external interface development.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting or leading Analysis of Alternatives, Trade Studies and/or Design Evaluations.
  • Experience designing large command and control and/or weapon systems.
