About The Position

Position Summary Perform functions to demonstrate, support and develop software and related products. Act as a key intermediary between customers and technical teams to identify and resolve functional and performance efficiencies the goal of optimizing software applications. With a moderate to advanced level of support and application expertise, resolve moderate to complex software queries, verify the alignment of software solutions with business objectives, and contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes for internal and external customers. Additionally, this position will be expected to grow the capabilities of Mitutoyo software products around documentation in its various forms, including legacy (existing documentation) and new “help” technologies.   • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent education/training, and at least four years’ experience in a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with metrology tools and measurement systems is a plus.
  • Preferred knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and quality control tools.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to user calls providing technical assistance to resolve moderate to complex problems. Troubleshoot software issues and work with internal and end user IT teams to advise on application -specific hardware and operating systems issues.
  • Respond to customers’ email inquiries.
  • Respond to customer product inquiries, determine product applicability and refer to Sales for follow-up call. May require participation in sales calls to demonstrate lab products.
  • Document user problems for replication in-house. Work with software engineering or internal staff to debug or resolve problems.
  • Test new systems and fixes to ensure product specification conformance.
  • Remain current on new lab software products, interfacing, hardware and operating system technology.
  • Compile end user and knowledgebase documentation. May include published articles or lectures and likely will expand beyond document-style assistance.
  • Research and advise on the use of current and upcoming mediums for providing automated technical assistance to end users.
  • Assist Software Support Specialists with inquiries that are beyond their technical capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
