The Software Support Analyst position at Iowa Western Community College is responsible for supporting the College's strategic objectives through effective use of information systems and data structures. This role provides assistance to end users of the Ellucian Colleague administrative information systems and integrated third-party systems, ensuring smooth operation and user satisfaction.

  • Provides software support to end users of Ellucian Colleague administrative information systems and integrated third-party systems.
  • Implements, updates, and maintains technology software related to Ellucian Colleague and online portals.
  • Assists users in decision-making regarding codes, parameters, software-related procedures, and reporting.
  • Assists in the testing of new software releases.
  • Develops and conducts user training.
  • Engages in personal education, training, and staff development activities to maintain technical competency.
  • Documents usage procedures for purchased and custom software.
  • Creates various documents and technical materials for distribution to management and users.
  • Provides ongoing technical support for application systems.
  • Maintains a high degree of user visibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related discipline, plus 2 years of experience in an applicable role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of experience in Microsoft SharePoint or equivalent software.
  • Familiar with modern programming languages such as Java, C++, and Visual Basic.
  • Familiar with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, XML, and ASP.
  • Familiar with server technologies including Windows, VMWare, and Linux.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer-oriented team.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
