About The Position

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Solutions Architect to join the Air Dominance, Air Proprietary 1 team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. We're seeking a highly talented, motivated, and creative individual to lead and support the existing capabilities of an agile software program in the Phantom Works organization.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of total experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software architecture, with a focus on cloud-based solutions and DevOps practices.
  • 10 years of experience leading software team and/or projects.
  • 10 years of experience in automated provisioning and configuring of software-defined infrastructure and designing for continuous deployment and continuous operations.
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD tools (e.g., Gitlab, Jenkins) and practices, automation frameworks, and infrastructure as code (IaC).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience in industrial engineering or process optimization is highly desirable.
  • Experience with AWS or Azure GovCloud.
  • Security+ certification.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based architectures (Amazon Web Services or Azure) that align with business objectives and enhance operational capabilities.
  • Lead the migration from on-premises to cloud-based solutions.
  • Lead the development of a comprehensive DevOps strategy, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and monitoring solutions to streamline software delivery and improve deployment frequency.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and product management, to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Utilize industrial engineering principles to analyze existing systems and processes, identifying areas for optimization and waste reduction to improve overall efficiency.
  • Define, collect, analyze, and refine Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics for software delivery and team execution to ensure continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the effort to develop and document best practices and methodologies for software development, deployment, and operations to ensure consistency and quality across the organization.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, present architectural designs, and provide updates on project progress.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud computing and DevOps, and apply this knowledge to enhance our solutions.
