About The Position

Software Security Engineer, Mid The Opportunity: As a Sof tware Security Engineer, you know how critical it is to stay ahead of evolving threats by identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities before adversaries can. At Booz Allen, you'll strengthen your knowledge on a mission-focused team where you'll use your growing understanding of security practices throughout the sof tware development lifecycle to enhance and maintain the security posture of sof tware. You’ll apply specific functional knowledge and working or general industry knowledge. You’ll develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. In this role, you’ll support clients by working with a collaborative team to assess and analyze sof tware for vulnerabilities to determine if the risk is acceptable for use in the DoD arena. You’ll utilize knowledge of the sof tware lifecycle and secure sof tware development practices to ensure security is built-in to sof tware applications. You’ll work closely with developers and information assurance engineers to ensure adequate verification and validation. You will examine sof tware applications from an adversarial perspective to qualify risks, work under general supervision, and plan, c ond uct, and deliver assignments. Requirements

  • Experience with Java, JavaScript, C, C++, or Python
  • Experience with Information Assurance and cybersecurity requirements
  • Knowledge of NIST, RMF, and DoD requirements
  • Knowledge of sof tware development or programming
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • DoD 8140 Compliant Intermediate or DoD 8570 Compliant IAT level II Certification such as Security+ or CISSP Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working through the Sof tware Development Life Cycle ( SDLC )
  • Experience with VMware and virtual test environments, and Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Experience with Static Code Analysis tools, including Fortify or OpenText
  • Experience with vulnerabilities and source code bugs
  • Knowledge of industry best practice met hodologies in sof tware security, and reporting on testing results and appropriate countermeasures
  • Knowledge of Static Code Analysis and performing code reviews, with and without a static code analyzer, for security vulnerabilities and applying industry best practices
  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate a passion for learning
  • Possession of excellent writing and communication skills, and analytical and technical problem-solving skills
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, Information Science, or a related field
