Software Safety Lead - Lunar Terrain Vehicle

Employment in this role is contingent upon NASA selecting Intuitive Machines as the winner of the LTVS program, scheduled for announcement later in 2025. Job Description: Coordinate IM’s integrated safety-critical software approach for LTV, interfacing with software development leads and NASA to define, implement, document, test, and certify a bullet-proof software system for crewed and robotic lunar surface exploration.
Requirements
- Experience leading software safety for complex projects in aerospace, defense, automotive, robotic, or related industries
- Experience with control systems for self-driving automobiles, thermal, power, and RF communications
- Experience coordinating small teams
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing
Responsibilities
- Top-Level requirement owner for NASA CBCS requirements (equivalent to SSP 50038)
- Primary software-team interface to NASA CBCS working group and NASA Safety Panel
- Coordinate and run weekly safety meetings, addressing all aspects of software safety across the vehicle
- Own the document that defines IM’s safety-critical software approach
- Designate key software functions for CBCS and coordinate the documentation of implementation and verification approaches for each function and each CBCS requirement
- Oversee unit testing, flat sat testing, and integrated testing to verify CBCS requirements
