Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 2+ years of experience with software certification processes and standards, such as DO-178C or similar, and experience supporting internal software certification activities
  • Experience with strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively brief and collaborate with various stakeholders, including management, program offices, and military personnel
  • Experience with strong analytical skills to evaluate complex systems and identify potential safety issues

Responsibilities

  • Support hardware and software change reviews
  • Provide support for our internal software certification process
  • Perform hazard tracking and risk resolution via System/Subsystem Hazard Analysis
  • Conduct safety assessments and technical safety memos, including: Engineering Review Boards, Enhancement Projects, address aircraft safety concerns, and track safety critical items.
  • Maintenance and development of Aviation Critical Safety Item (ACSI) list
  • Support System Safety Working Groups
  • Support fleet incidents and mishap investigations
  • Be comfortable briefing all levels of management, program office, and USAF personnel
  • Support the F-22 for any and all aircraft/software safety concerns
