About The Position

You will be the Software Safety Engineer Stf for the Fighter System Safety Team which is responsible for performing analyses for hazard identification, evaluation, and control using quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques typically used in the design of aircraft weapon systems and sustainment activities. What You Will Be Doing As the Software Safety Engineer Stf you will be responsible for performing analyses for hazard identification, evaluation, control, and coordination in support of software safety activities for internal and external stakeholders of fighter aircraft platforms. Your responsibilities will include: Develop and assist in preparing software aspects of the hazard analysis, including development of software safety requirements. Review and analyze software to ensure appropriate Integrated Product Team (IPT) process definition meets the required safety level. Assess individual IPT compliance and collect evidence for hazard analyses for each Computer Software Configuration Item (CSCI). Conduct software safety assessments to ensure CSCIs are developed with the appropriate rigor and issue process release authorization notices to clear software for flight. Basic Qualifications Bachelors degree in STEM Discipline (Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering preferred) Experience with and knowledge of System or Software Safety analyses, standards, and tools Experience leading projects and teams Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with communicating cross-functionally Desired skills Safety critical software architectural design, coding or test experience Software quality experience Experience with software safety requirements across the full development lifecycle from hazard identification through development to system/software qualification test. Military or civilian flight experience Knowledge of MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-516, ARP-4761, and/or ARP-4754 Knowledge of FAA and military regulations and processes Previous experience writing technical reports on complex subject matter Experience with military or government programs Knowledge of Statistical Analysis Methods Model-based system engineering (MBSE) experience Experience working with international customers and suppliers Government contract execution experience Ability to assess if SW development team has adequate configuration management of artifacts. Ability to assess software product evaluation artifacts to ensure SW development team applied the appropriate level of rigor or development assurance during inspections. Ability to assess that requirements-based test results have met minimum criteria for normal range and robustness testing, as well as boundary testing. Experience mentoring junior-level team members. Ability to work remotely Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to its employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Security Clearance Information This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $113,900 - $200,905. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. Requirements
