About The Position

The ideal candidate for this position is a problem solver. As a Software Requirements Specialist, you will use your knowledge, skills, and abilities to solve organizational information challenges and will use your critical thinking skills to identify client requirements and translate those into detailed instructions for your development team to execute. The ideal Software Requirements Specialist also has strong writing and communication skills, ability to learn technical concepts, and is able to build relationships with both their team members and clients. This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. Your future duties and responsibilities: . Gather, develop, document and validate business, functional and technical requirements. . Interact with client during Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions. . Interact with advanced business analysts and solution developers to communicate and validate requirements. . Perform functional and integrated testing. . Prepare and maintain project documentation and artifacts including analysis, reports and user documentation. . Works with project managers, developers, and end users to ensure application designs meet business requirements. . Evaluates new and existing software products. . Author and prepare meeting minutes to be distributed to a variety of audiences . Author user stories, test scripts, and other Agile deliverables . US Citizenship required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, Computer Information Systems preferred
  • 1 year work experience as an analyst on a software-focused team
  • Knowledge of SDLC
  • Functional analysis and strong writing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment under tight timelines
  • Ability to multi-task and support multiple projects at once
  • Experience working with JIRA and Confluence
  • US Citizenship required.
