Raytheon’s Quality and Mission Assurance group in Aurora, CO, seeks a Principal Software Quality Engineer to provide complete life-cycle support to large-scale software and systems integration programs. You ensure the quality and success of delivered software, hardware, and related documentation. Additionally, you will support delivered system Installations.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or other technical field of study, and a minimum of eight (8) years of related Quality Engineering or Quality Management experience
  • Two (2) years of experience with multi-functional engineering, software and/or system development throughout the program lifecycle
  • Quality Management Systems (QMS) and/or compliance experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top-Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in system engineering, developing, integrating and testing software, including COTS integration and test automation
  • ASQ Certification and auditing experience
  • CORE/Six Sigma certification
  • Operational experience with command-and-control ground systems
  • Company-specific Mission Assurance certification
  • Knowledge of AS9100
  • Proven ability to perform independent assessments and evaluations
  • Proven ability to effectively interface with internal/external customers, subcontractor personnel and program leadership
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and perform program-based internal audits and objective evaluations to verify compliance and effectiveness with program processes
  • Review and approve program documentation, monitor tests, review test results (unit test, system test, regression test) and ensure issues are addressed
  • Review RTX command media changes to ensure content is integrated into program.
  • Review contract and SOW to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Provide proposal inputs including: labor bids with justifiable task descriptions / bases of estimates.
  • Support Supplier Quality requirements and activities for the program.
  • Actively participate (identify, review, mitigate) in program Risk and Opportunity process
  • Manage program Corrective Actions and Root Cause Analysis
  • Lead Lessons Learned for program process improvement.
  • Participate in program team meetings, peer reviews, technical reviews, and formal reviews, such as Gate reviews and program milestone reviews.
