About The Position

GovCIO is seeking a QA Engineer. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with manual testing in a federal government client environment. This customer-facing role will be instrumental in ensuring customer satisfaction. This position will be fully remote within the United States.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, or related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in IT.
• 4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
• Experience with Jira, X-ray, AWS.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, specifically Kanban.
• Must be able to obtain a DHS Public Trust.

Nice To Haves

• ATF experience in AWS.

Responsibilities

• Develop, publish, and implement test plans for complex, multi-tier, distributed applications throughout the full lifecycle.
• Develop manual or automated testing systems using commercial tools, scripts and data set.
• Participates in all aspects of testing, including functional, regression, load and system testing.
• Assures the appropriate level of quality by the resolution of important defects by working with developers and/or engineers to ensure the software or hardware development process has an appropriate level of testing.
• Develops response strategies and processes for high-criticality and security vulnerability related bug notifications.
• Pro-actively investigates and finds potential security holes and attack vectors within both the existing and newly developed code base.
• Working in iterative development cycles with cross-functional teams using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Communicate effectively with federal clients, developers, and program managers.
