DVS is actively seeking a Software QA Engineer who excels at testing both desktop and mobile applications and has a strong foundation in automation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing scalable automated test frameworks, building sophisticated UI tests, and ensuring product quality through a mix of automated and manual testing. This role is located onsite in Huntsville, AL. This position requires an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain.

Requirements

  • Proven experience testing desktop and mobile applications in a professional environment.
  • Strong proficiency with automated testing tools.
  • Proficient in scripting languages used for automation and UI test creation, including JavaScript, Python, VBScript, JScript, DelphiScript, C#, and C++.
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies, test design techniques, and software development lifecycles.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to analyze complex systems, troubleshoot issues, and think critically about edge cases.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team‑oriented mindset.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Ability to handle multiple priority and changes in priorities in an everchanging environment.
  • Be able to maintain awareness during scheduled working hours.
  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at desk and working on a computer (mouse and keyboard)
  • Able to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; good command of the English language
  • Execute tasks independently and work as a team.
  • Learns and memories routine tasks.
  • This position requires an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain automated test frameworks for desktop and mobile applications.
  • Create new UI tests using scripting languages to support robust automation coverage.
  • Execute, refine, and troubleshoot automated test scripts for regression, functional, and integration testing.
  • Perform manual testing when needed to validate new features, edge cases, and exploratory scenarios.
  • Collaborate closely with software developers to understand requirements and ensure high‑quality releases.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using standard issue‑tracking tools.
  • Analyze test results, generate clear reports, and communicate findings to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, automation strategies, and best practices.
  • Participate in sprint planning, standups, and release readiness activities.
