Union Technologies is reindustrializing America’s defense manufacturing base with a first-of-its-kind Factories-as-a-Stockpile™ model, integrating advanced robotics, manufacturing, and software into sovereign factory systems at scale. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, UNION is dedicated to restoring America’s industrial strength and guaranteeing deterrence for the century ahead. We recently emerged from stealth with $50M in funding led by top-tier venture investors and strategic partners. Read more in our Press Release Why This Role Exists Software reliability is a mission-critical requirement in defense manufacturing. Every defect has downstream impacts on safety, compliance, and throughput. As a QA Analyst, you’ll design and execute test plans that validate functionality, durability, and compliance of the manufacturing software platform. You’ll report to the Product Manager of Factory Systems and work closely with backend, frontend, robotics, and DevOps engineers.

  • Define, maintain, and execute manual and automated test plans across services, APIs, and user interfaces.
  • Validate factory-critical workflows: work order execution, part genealogy, traceability, and inventory accuracy.
  • Develop regression suites that prevent defects from reappearing in production.
  • Collaborate with engineers to design testable requirements, acceptance criteria, and edge cases.
  • Build and monitor QA pipelines in CI/CD, enabling automated validation before each release.
  • Verify system behavior under load using stress and performance testing tools.
  • Document, track, and prioritize defects; ensure root cause analysis and prevention.
  • Uphold security and compliance standards through test coverage of audit logging, RBAC, encryption, and CMMC controls.
  • Partner with manufacturing and operations teams to validate software performance in a live production setting.
  • 3–5+ years in software QA, including test plan design and execution.
  • Strong experience testing APIs (REST/gRPC) and data workflows.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases (SQL) and data validation practices.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with defect management systems and structured reporting.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) or industrial software.
  • Familiarity with IIoT data ingestion, OPC UA, or MTConnect.
  • Background in performance/load testing of distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards (CMMC/NIST 800-171, ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Hands-on experience scripting in Python or Go for automation.
  • Experience validating deployments to air-gapped or regulated environments.
  • Exceptional talent shouldn't be bound by geography. If you're ready to relocate to Dallas, TX and join us in reindustrializing America’s defense backbone, we'll make it easy—and for those who move quickly, additional incentives may be available.
