About The Position

Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software / Production Support Engineer to perform production, assembly, and checkout of hardware (HW) and software (SW) network communications equipment racks, embedded Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS), and program-unique modules and components. This exciting opportunity will involve applying your technical expertise to support and troubleshoot IT hardware, software, and network systems. What You Will Learn: You will learn principles and concepts and work side-by-side with industry recognized technical leaders to develop and implement state of the art systems.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills for hardware and software connectivity issues.
  • Experience with secure networking practices and system hardening.
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps environments and tools.
  • Familiarity with Linux systems and Windows operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience with networking concepts, including WAN, LAN, and VPNs.
  • Basic knowledge of configuration management processes.
  • Proficiency with virtualization technologies such as Harvester, Rancher, Longhorn, or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with software tools such as Git, Gitea, and Artifactory.
  • Basic understanding of using Jira and Confluence for task tracking and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Test hardware and software for connectivity and usability, as required.
  • Install and configure hardware in the Systems Integration Environment (lab environment).
  • Support development and test teams utilizing equipment within the Systems Integration lab.
  • Create, maintain, and improve Systems Integration Environment processes.
  • Establish customer requirements for the Systems Integration Environment lab to support program product line features.
  • Perform tasking and planning for program efforts.
  • Design support systems, machines, and network devices.
  • Establish and maintain connectivity between RTX systems and associated systems, configuring all necessary network access.
  • Ensure RTX and business partners have reliable access to associated systems.
  • Provide support to all teams for tasks involving all aspects of the systems.
  • Document changes within the configuration of hardware for associated systems.
