Discover Impactful Work: As a Product Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will contribute to innovation and growth for our market-leading product portfolios while enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You will manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, from strategy development through commercialization and optimization. Working in a collaborative, global matrix organization, you'll partner with R&D, operations, marketing, sales, and other cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional products that solve customer challenges. You'll conduct voice-of-customer research, define product requirements, develop business cases, coordinate product launches, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers meaningful impact and visibility, with opportunities to shape product direction through data-driven insights and strategic thinking. The Software Product Manager will provide leadership for software products and solutions in the Clinical Sequencing Division (CSD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific. This person will manage on-market software and develop new software products and solutions focused on NGS applications. S/he will be responsible for the development of product strategy, definition, positioning, and management of product lifecycle for research and clinical software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years of experience in software product management required.
  • Familiarity with genomics, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) analysis & reporting software.
  • Experience with Lab and Hospital IT systems – LIMS, EMR, EHR systems.
  • Experience with command-line Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and Software Development Kits (SDKs).
  • Knowledgeable about software development with a focus on scientific and diagnostic software development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate value proposition and technical information to a range of customer and internal audiences.
  • Self-directed, persistent, and goal-oriented
  • Ability to work collaboratively with global cross-functional teams
  • Up to 20% Travel (international and domestic) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or PhD preferred in Bioinformatics / Computer Science, Life Sciences, or Business Administration.
  • Commercial / customer-facing experience desired, including technical sales, product support, product specialist, or product management.

Responsibilities

  • Leads software product lifecycle management from concept through commercialization, including voice of customer research, definition of customer and product requirements, and value proposition.
  • Meetings with customers to gather feedback and support field teams.
  • Partner with internal and external software development teams to develop software & IT solutions and services for NGS customers.
  • Manages global product launches, including sales & support training.
  • Works collaboratively with other members of Thermo Fisher Scientific team to drive growth for the business segment.
