Get a firsthand look at how traditional print software has evolved into a modern microservices based, serverless, software as a service business model. As our software summer Product Manager / Owner intern, you will be responsible to define market requirements and work with engineering to deliver a solution with a focus on Data Analytics, Dashboards, IoT, and Artificial Intelligence. At Ricoh, the software Product Manager / Owner intern role is responsible for learning how to turn product capabilities into customer value by understanding the customer, the marketplace, Ricoh’s current software portfolio, emerging technology developed by Ricoh R&D, and the competitive landscape. This role provides the global headquarters product management team, which leverages the Pragmatic Marketing methodology, support for production print areas of the market. As an intern in the Product Management department, you’ll observe the value of becoming a product and market evangelist, and a go-to source for knowledge on the customer, the customer’s problems and use cases, and the likely decision-making criteria used when making a technology investment. At Ricoh, the software Product Manager / Owner has an opportunity to learn both sides of the business: As a product manager interfacing with the market and the customer, defining what the customer needs be more successful in their business and how to go to market. As a product owner working with the SaaS engineering team to verify their design will fulfill your original requirements. You’ll be spanning the market-to-development gap while you evangelize the power of the solution within Ricoh. Learn directly from customers about their challenges they face running their business, and how you can help them. You’ll prioritize what you learn based on urgency, pervasiveness and the customers willingness to pay. Engage the sales team to educate them about your project, and how you’ve solved their customer’s problems. You’ll need to consider the go to market plan and how best to package, price, promote and support the project to appeal to your target customer. You’ll help to define the product management requirements in a way that our SaaS software engineering team can solve the customer’s problem most effectively. This will include the target customer persona, the context behind their problem, and the desired outcome that engineers can use to design a solution. You’ll follow the progress of the project as it progresses through our Agile scrum-based development process. As new function is built, you’ll review and sign-off that the team has solved the original problem that you defined. At the conclusion of the project, you’ll share the results with the Ricoh executive management staff.
