About The Position

CACI is seeking talented Software and Network Engineering Interns to join their team in Florham Park, NJ for Summer 2026. The internship will begin in May and last 12 weeks, requiring 100% on-site work. Interns will work from existing design specifications to implement, test, and document software solutions in telecommunications and IP/computer networking equipment within the cyber security domain. They will collaborate with a product development team to develop concepts, identify creative solutions to user requests, and assess feasibility. The role involves participating in technical activities across multiple disciplines including security analysis, software/tool development, software test, development environment, and system infrastructure. Interns will work in a telecommunications development lab environment, utilizing automation tools and lab test equipment, including protocol analyzers, and are expected to operate effectively in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduating high school senior or currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Networking or related field
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Familiar with software engineering process concepts from requirements reviews, code inspection, and system test plan creation to system validation
  • Familiar with development in either Windows, Linux and/or Unix-based operating systems
  • Software development skills in current languages such as: JavaScript, Python, C/C++ or comparable languages
  • Use of development tools (e.g. editors, compliers, debuggers)
  • Knowledge of IP networking and/or telecommunications equipment installation, configuration and maintenance
  • Some experience debugging system-level issues with various lab equipment
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn new technologies
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred but not required
  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience
  • Participation in professional/community/extracurricular activities
