About The Position

TechSmith’s Marketing Intern program supports the Revenue Organization at TechSmith. Within the Revenue Organization are Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations. Marketing interns will have the opportunity to work with multiple focus areas such as Marketing Generalist, Marketing Content, Direct Marketing, Digital Advertising, or Social Media. TechSmith Corporation encourages interns to express their distinctive talents and discover their core competencies. Our interns will have a significant business impact while working across teams on a variety of projects. We are currently looking for interns for the Summer, with the option to extend beyond for additional semesters.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of all MS Office programs and Google Suite
  • Must be resourceful, customer-focused, and able to work on a team
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and listening skills
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, independent worker who is reliable and communicative
  • Dependable employee with minimum of six months previous sales, marketing, customer service, retail, or other related work experience
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Strong relationship builder with key stakeholders - other team members, leadership and other colleagues
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • You must be enrolled for at least 6 credits (undergrad) or 3 credits (grad) for Fall and/or Spring semesters to be considered for an internship with TechSmith Corporation. Summer class enrollment is not required.
  • Requires at least 12 hours minimum - 18 hours maximum per week.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to our East Lansing, MI location on Wednesdays for in office work during the summer semester.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the company’s priority customer missions and leading products.
  • Learn to use and understand the key concepts of the TechSmith software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and support the creation process of sales and marketing deliverables.
  • Support key marketing functions such as web, social, SEO, blog, campaigns, digital marketing, and more.
  • Research market best practices, insights, and industry trends and learn data analytics as related to revenue generation.
  • Assist with sales enablement on product launches and regular updates to the website.
  • Use backend content management systems to update existing programs, measure effectiveness, and other administration involved in programs.
  • Work on special projects, researching deeper into our customer databases, and measuring the impact of the Revenue Organization efforts.
  • Generate documentation, reports, and presentations to highlight marketing activities and reference materials for future efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
