As a Tech & Innovation Solutions Engineer, you will be a member of the USG Go To Market (GTM) Team working directly with customers and collaborating internally with Business Development, Sales, Product and our Engineering teams. You will design and develop demo proofs-of-technology concepts and ensure successful technical integration and adoption of solutions with customers to impact their critical missions. This role will focus on deploying and integrating our novel GPS-denied operations software on drones. You will work with a wide variety of customers and use cases, predominantly in DoD and IC, influencing opportunities with our teams to develop innovative and effective solutions. In this role, you will be relied upon to exercise creativity, make pragmatic technology choices, and implement practical approaches. An ideal candidate possesses strategic and analytic aptitude, software development expertise, and excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Develop and deploy drone-focused technology solutions as proofs-of-concept in our lab and onsite with customers
  • Test, troubleshoot, and enhance customer software applications with and on behalf of customers
  • Develop and present innovative, scalable, and cost-effective software solutions to meet customer needs
  • Continually assess product quality, release readiness, and maintain existing Maxar software and hardware solutions
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation to enable scaling of forward-deployed engineering tasks
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and government regulations that impact drones, autonomy, and GPS-denied operations

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are preferred but not required
  • 5+ years of Proven experience in a relevant technology domain (software development, hardware integration, drones, autonomy)
  • Understanding of U.S. Government infrastructure and security requirements
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts related to managing drone applications, autonomy, and complex software stacks
  • Experience with DevOps tools and automation platforms like Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies
  • Significant software development experience with Python, JavaScript, or similar
  • Experience with developing product demonstrations and proofs of concept to showcase the capabilities and benefits of solutions to potential customers
  • Experience with drone hardware and software technologies
  • FAA Part 107 drone pilot license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with US Government customers, including those in technical and leadership positions
  • Strong experience with large geospatial datasets, storage, access patterns and formats
  • Creative problem solver and a team player
  • Ability to travel and work independently and collaboratively with remote and/or geographically distributed teams
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments, using frameworks like Scrum and Kanban
