About The Position

As a Software Engineer 2 here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and management of complex systems and solutions that drive innovation, safety, and efficiency across various industries. Your proficiencies in software engineering will be instrumental in shaping the future of technology and industry solutions. You will report directly to our Senior Engineering Manager and you will work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the company's ability to deliver high-quality, innovative, and technologically advanced solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations. Your contributions will enhance operational efficiency and safety across multiple sectors. You will impact the development of systems/hardware/software solutions for the Flight Systems development team, contributing to the success of our products and solutions.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of experience in software engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as systems engineering, software engineering, computer science, or directly related field of study.
  • Experience coding in C.
  • Working knowledge in software integration, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Technical background in software systems.
  • Proficiency in software engineering tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with avionics and other aircraft systems
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of DO-178B/C.
  • Experience in complex system integration projects.
  • Effectively able to work in a teaming environment with members located in many Aerospace locations across the globe.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous learning.
  • Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving capability.
  • Experience in Microsoft Windows based tool development environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of advanced systems, including the design, development, integration and testing of Air Data systems and software efforts.
  • Work with a team of engineers that cover multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Interface to customers, internal support groups, and external suppliers.
  • Provide successful execution of complex engineering projects.
  • Implement and enforce security measures and compliance standards to safeguard systems and data.
  • Contribute to the deployment and configuration of systems, ensuring they are installed correctly, tested rigorously, and perform optimally.
  • Identify opportunities for process and system improvements, implement enhancements, and contribute to the optimization of operations.
