Collins Aerospace is looking to hire a Software Engineering Technician. This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location and is to be worked fully Onsite. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered. What YOU will do: Interpret engineering software designs and use appropriate software, tools, and diagnostic utilities to verify software for sequence, functionality, and standards compliance. Adapt existing code bases in a variety of programming languages and demonstrate understanding of logic structures and syntax. Document how software relates to program software and integrated systems. Maintain and organize software licensing and project files. Evaluate, generate, and implement problem solving solutions for both programming and administrative tasks. Develop realistic work plans, set goals, coordinate with the team, and execute tasks within required timelines. Troubleshoot and resolve service and support challenges while applying best practices for documentation and change management. Support basic IT infrastructure and networking when required. Execute and create documented procedures. Ensure compliance with quality standards, internal processes, and Lab safety policies. Requirements

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Read and work with structured data formats such as XML or similar configuration files.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and database tools such as SQL or similar technologies.
  • Basic understanding of web or cloud-based applications.
  • Understanding of basic software testing concepts and validation activities.
  • Familiarity with development lifecycle processes and change management tools (SVM or similar systems).
  • Experience working with code in any programming language.
  • Familiarity with integrated systems environments.
  • Experience supporting engineering or lab environments.
  • Exposure to Agile team environments.
