We are the Catalyst Center Platforms and Capabilities team, responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and high-productivity cloud-native infrastructure and PaaS capabilities that power thousands of enterprise customers. Our mission is to drive Cisco's digital infrastructure transformation through platform innovation. One of our key initiatives is a cloud-native platform for next generation application infrastructure purpose-built for Cisco Catalyst Center deployments powered by Kubernetes, popular open-source system for automated container management at scale. If you answered "yes" to all the previous questions, you would fit right into our team! What You'll Do Technical owner and lead for core platform areas across Kubernetes, Linux, and networking. Define the roadmap, design scalable and secure primitives (runtime, networking, storage), mentor engineers, and partner with adjacent teams to deliver a dependable Kubernetes based microservices platform.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in systems/platform/infra engineering; 3+ years operating Kubernetes in production at meaningful scale.
  • Deep Linux fundamentals (namespaces, cgroups, networking stack, filesystems) and strong TCP/IP knowledge (routing, NAT, load-balancing concepts, TLS/PKI).
  • Hands-on Kubernetes expertise (cluster operations, custom resources/controllers, networking/storage/ingress patterns).
  • Proficiency in a systems programming and Golang , Python.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code concepts and declarative configuration management.
  • Security mindset: access controls, network segmentation, workload isolation, and vulnerability reduction.
  • Experience across both cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Clear communication and demonstrated end-to-end technical leadership.
  • Lead through influence: run design reviews, set quality bars, mentor 4-8 engineers, and communicate trade-offs to leadership and partner teams.
