Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent education and related training
  • Fifteen years of experience in testing and quality assurance processes, including three years’ experience leading testing initiatives
  • Expert knowledge of test management tools, such as HP Application Lifecycle Management or Quality Center
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
  • Thorough understanding of business, functional and technical aspects for applications assigned portfolio
  • Thorough understanding of application landscape (e.g. application architecture, physical and logical deployment, interfaces, dependencies) for applications in assigned portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guide testing teams in requirement and design reviews.
  • Oversee and guide the creation and execution of test scenarios and test cases.
  • Manage the tracking and monitoring of defects.
  • Report testing status via test summary and defect reporting.
  • Support a large portfolio of applications that will support a specific line of business, channel or other business functions.
  • Serve as Subject matter expert (SME) for application software quality.
  • Manage and lead cross-functional collaboration with other LOB’s and other Tech partners to ensure software quality.
  • Participate in testing, implementation, maintenance, and escalated support of Truist's most complex solutions.
  • Some development includes but is not limited to customized coding, software integration, analysis, configuring solutions, or use tools pertinent to the area, project, or system to configure or generate a solution.
  • Automation Strategy & Implementation Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks for functional, regression, and performance testing.
  • Identify opportunities to replace manual testing with automation to improve efficiency and coverage.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous quality validation.
  • End-to-End Testing Leadership Lead planning and execution of end-to-end testing across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate complex workflows and ensure seamless integration between applications.
  • Define test data strategies and environments required for comprehensive system-level testing.
  • Quality Governance & Standards Establish and enforce best practices for test automation, coding standards, and documentation.
  • Drive adoption of modern QA tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, API testing tools).
  • Monitor and report on test coverage, defect trends, and automation ROI to stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship Mentor junior QA engineers on automation techniques, scripting, and test design.
  • Coordinate testing activities across scrum teams, ensuring timely delivery of quality outcomes.
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex testing challenges and provide guidance on resolution.
  • Performance & Scalability Testing Develop automated performance and load testing scripts to validate system scalability, when necessary.
  • Analyze results and work with engineering teams to optimize application performance.
  • Risk-Based Testing & Compliance Implement risk-based testing approaches to prioritize critical business workflows.
  • Ensure testing processes comply with regulatory and security standards relevant to the organization.
  • Continuous Improvement Evaluate emerging QA tools and technologies to enhance automation capabilities.
  • Drive initiatives for process optimization and improved test efficiency.
