About The Position

Our platform’s unprecedented level of efficiency enables IoT devices to intelligently capture and curate first-party data to drive the next major computing revolution Efficient is looking for an Engineering Manager to manage the architecture and software optimization teams. This is a unique opportunity to work with an intensely skilled engineering team developing the world’s most efficient, programmable processor. The Engineering Manager will collaborate with team leads to set the roadmap and priorities for each team. They will be deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of each team, while also having the opportunity to engage with external partners to augment internal engineering efforts. Requirements

  • Must be an excellent manager with 5+ years of post-graduate experience
  • Must have background in software optimization or computer architecture, including:
  • Experience working as an software optimization or processor architecture engineer
  • Experience managing a team of engineers
  • Familiarity with the technical problems and solutions in the noted fields
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree or PhD preferred
  • Prior experience leading projects and scaling teams for growth in architecture and/or software optimization teams
  • Flexible and effective in managing rapidly evolving team priorities and focus
  • Experience working with outside vendors to deliver key engineering products
  • Outstanding communication skills and a strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency across various application domains, including (but not limited to) robotics, machine learning, and digital signal processing.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture fundamentals and experience with microarchitectural simulation.
  • Adept at C and C++.
  • Experience building applications for resource constrained devices, especially those that include machine learning and/or digital signal processing.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the management of architecture and optimization teams, including:
  • Working closely with team leads to prioritize work and set roadmaps based on business requirements from the Product, Sales and Marketing teams
  • Creating sprint plans and retrospectives
  • Managing day-to-day operations, including conducting scrum/standup meetings
  • Creating, rescoping, prioritizing and generally keeping track of tasks
  • Managing and developing the engineering team by:
  • Conducting regular 1:1 meetings with team members to offer constructive feedback
  • Creating growth plans with key performance indicators for each team member
  • Measuring and tracking the performance of team members
  • Being instrumental in the hiring process, screening résumés and conducting interviews
  • Engaging with external vendors/partners to augment internal engineering efforts by:
  • Developing clear statements of work
  • Conducting frequent alignment meetings
  • Tracking the progress of external contractors
