About The Position

Wayfair believes everyone deserves a home they love, and that furnishing your home should be a source of fun, not anxiety. Our Sales Technology organization plays a crucial role in this mission by building the platforms, tools, and integrations that empower our 1,000+ Sales associates to help millions of customers - both consumer and business - find exactly what they need to complete their projects with confidence. From large-scale renovations to outfitting new offices and hotels, Sales Technology is responsible for the systems that generate over $3B in revenue annually and enable exceptional customer and agent experiences. We're looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers building technology that empowers Sales associates to deliver best-in-class customer experiences. You'll shape the future of Sales Technology at Wayfair - helping us reimagine project shopping, agent tooling, and customer communications, and collaborating closely with Product, Design, Analytics, and Commercial to deliver scalable, reliable solutions that help agents build lasting customer relationships and drive business growth.

  • Proven success leading teams that deliver scalable, distributed systems, services, or integrations in a complex business environment.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to dive deep into architecture and design decisions while enabling your team's autonomy.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to align technical and business perspectives.
  • Experience collaborating with Product, Design, Analytics, and Commercial stakeholders to define and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow engineers at varying levels of experience.
  • A bias toward action, with a passion for iterating quickly, testing, and learning to achieve customer and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 5-9 engineers responsible for building and scaling the platforms that power B2B & B2C Sales at Wayfair.
  • Own the technical output of your team across design, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers to define roadmaps, shape requirements, and ensure delivery against a clear mission and KPIs.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching through 1:1s, code reviews, and career development support, fostering a culture of growth, inclusion, and technical excellence.
  • Raise the bar on engineering best practices - driving improvements in reliability, scalability, and velocity.
  • Collaborate across Sales Technology and broader Wayfair Engineering to establish and leverage common APIs, services, and frameworks.
  • Partner with senior leaders across Product, Design, Analytics, and Sales Operations to build solutions that address complex customer and business needs.
  • Engage your team in technical roadmap planning, ensuring long-term sustainability and innovation alongside near-term delivery.
