The App Data Platform team has a unique opportunity to unlock value for Google Cloud and our users by leveraging and breaking the silos of the GCP data (understanding who uses our platform, how, and what they use). The team's mission is to build a data platform that is able to query across foundational GCP data of CAIS, AppHub, API registry, identities, etc., operational telemetry, quota, capacity, usage, billing, recommendations and insights, MSA, SCC, etc. This data platform will power multiple data products answering a myriad of PLG, personalization, operational hygiene, optimizations, KPIs, etc., questions. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
• Experience with data management, data integration, large-scale data processing, databases, and distributed databases.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical roadmap for the Data Platform to move to a fully generalized platform.
• Oversee the architectural convergence of the Semantic Layer (USDF), One Graph (Spanner Graph), and BigQuery federation.
• Manage a newly formed and growing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Data Platform team and drive the strategy for Agentic AI data retrieval.
• Partner with the Quota team, Billing, and Unified Data Layer leads to onboard high-value datasets.
• Discuss requirements for data ingestion, synchronization, and permission models.
• Participate in engineering engagement with internal teams across sites, and influence and manage relationships with them.
• Establish and maintain high technical standards, ensuring code quality, reliability, and performance.
• Set software development principles across the team and stack.
• Co-ordinate production, staging and test environments improvements, run technical debt reduction analysis and actively participate in the reduction efforts.
