About The Position
Verkada is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to join our Core Platform team in San Mateo, CA. As the largest cloud-based B2B physical security platform company globally, Verkada is at the forefront of integrating various security solutions into a single cloud-based software platform. Our product lines include video security cameras, access control, environmental sensors, alarms, workplace, and intercoms, all designed for simplicity and scalability. The Core Platform team is responsible for building the foundational services that will enable Verkada to rapidly launch a suite of IoT devices, effectively powering our 'operating system for buildings.' In this role, you will be the architect, designer, and developer across a wide range of projects, directly impacting the future of our platform and services. As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of frontend and backend engineers dedicated to our Command product. This role requires a hands-on approach, where you will not only manage but also actively participate in coding and prototyping new features. You will inspire your team to create polished and delightful user experiences while collaborating closely with Product and Design teams to ensure that we deliver features that exceed user expectations. Your leadership will be crucial in defining and executing goals, priorities, and processes, while also driving the adoption of best practices and coding standards to ensure high-quality, maintainable code. Staying current with emerging technologies and trends will be essential, as you will evaluate their potential impact on our platforms and recommend innovative solutions. Additionally, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the engineering team will be a key aspect of your responsibilities.
