About The Position

This role is a high-impact leadership opportunity to drive the development and evolution of a major backend SaaS platform. You will lead a distributed engineering team, shaping technical architecture, modernizing systems, and ensuring high-quality, scalable software delivery. The position involves mentoring engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture, and collaborating closely with product and cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for defining technical strategy, overseeing project execution, and aligning engineering goals with broader business objectives. The ideal candidate thrives in remote, globally distributed environments, has deep expertise in backend development (Python or Golang), and is passionate about both technology and team growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or related field
  • Proven experience managing and growing engineering teams in a backend SaaS environment
  • Strong software development background in Python or Golang, with hands-on architectural experience
  • Practical experience with Linux system administration and distributed systems
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies, modern software practices, and cloud-native architectures
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, globally distributed environment
  • Passion for mentoring, coaching, and developing engineering talent

Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and grow a high-performing engineering team, providing mentorship and career development
  • Define and execute engineering roadmaps for backend SaaS systems
  • Contribute hands-on to code, architecture, and design reviews to ensure best practices
  • Oversee agile development practices and project delivery across distributed teams
  • Collaborate with product managers, other engineering teams, and stakeholders to align priorities
  • Foster a healthy, collaborative engineering culture, ensuring clarity, accountability, and innovation
  • Manage expectations and communications for technical delivery, risks, and progress
