About the Role: We are looking for a Software Engineer Intern to help design, build, and improve our software.  In this role, you will work on writing and testing code, finding and fixing bugs, and supporting our technical infrastructure.  You’ll use tools for build pipelines, automated testing, and other cloud-based/web technologies to help deliver reliable, high-quality software. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys coding, problem solving, and learning how complex systems are developed in real-world environments. Throughout the 10-12 weeks you'll have the opportunity to participate in the following: •    Design and develop code and documentation to support the creation of new features and functionality. •    Develop and maintain software under an Agile/Scrum/Continuous Integration methodology. •    Develop required software tests to ensure features are properly verified. •    Participate in troubleshooting of defects.  •    Learn, apply, and share knowledge of new and emerging technologies and the opportunities to integrate them into our products.

Requirements

  • Able to work full-time over the summer months (May/June – August/ Sept)
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Programming experience with .NET/C#, C++, or similar (coursework or projects acceptable).
  • Basic understanding of: •    Computer science concepts (operating systems, databases, software systems, and networking). •    Software design principles, algorithms, data structures, design patterns.
  • Experience with source control tools (e.g., Git).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work onsite at our Newark, DE campus.  Intern housing, relocation, and housing stipends are not provided.
