About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative, and detail-oriented individual for our Software Engineering Internship. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. A typical day as a Software Engineering Intern might include the following: Supporting SEL's software development processes. Verifying that software meets requirements. Implementing firmware/software design. Providing support to SEL engineers and customers. Following engineering quality assurance procedures. Continuously identifying, measuring, and improving processes. Embracing the mindset: Understand. Create. Simplify. Applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles. Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current student pursuing a degree in computer science or equivalent degree.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Programming experience in OO programming languages and experience using a variety of scripting languages.
• Ability to execute and document defined testing procedures.
• Knowledge of SQL and database concepts.
• Practical knowledge development of Microsoft Windows applications.
• Experience using revision control and source code management systems.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
