About The Position

The Software Engineering Intern will be immersed in the Dispatch technology stack and will work alongside the engineering team to deliver new product features and bug fixes. They will gain in-depth knowledge of the Dispatch products and how they are used internally and by customers. They will also use their knowledge of the products and systems to build new features and maintain existing ones.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a degree in Software Engineering or a related field at an accredited college or university
Solid understanding of software and application design, and development and project management principles
Software development experience or training in a programming language like Ruby, C#, Java, Go, or PHP with a strong desire and interest to learn Ruby on Rails and Go (Golang)
Proactive, able to work independently, deal with ambiguity, and meet deadlines in a fast moving environment focused on results
A track record of learning new technologies on the fly and finding the right tool for the job
Expected to leverage modern AI tools and AI-assisted development practices in daily engineering work to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity

Responsibilities

Build high-quality features that meet business objectives with a focus on usability
Apply foundational AI models and AI technologies as part of building and delivering software features, including integrating AI capabilities into product or internal engineering workflows
Deploy projects to production frequently and monitor the results to ensure quality and positive outcomes
Collaborate closely with teammates through code reviews to remain aligned and adhere to best coding practices
Contribute to product and technical knowledge in the form of knowledge bases, notes, documentation, etc.
