About The Position

Quindar builds modern, cloud-native satellite mission operations software with a simple mission: to operate satellites like servers. Our platform replaces fragmented, legacy ground systems with an integrated, automation-driven approach that brings modern software velocity to space operations. We're a small, fast-moving team with deep aerospace and software roots, energized by big challenges and motivated by the impact we have on real missions in this next chapter of the Space Age. If you want to work with sharp, ambitious people who push boundaries, move quickly, and are excited to take space operations to the next level, Quindar is the place to do it. Software Engineering Intern – Test & Quality What You’ll Be Doing Test software that keeps spacecraft healthy. As a Software Engineering Intern you’ll help build and automate software tests and simulations that ensure our mission operations platform is reliable, resilient, and ready for real customers operating satellites in orbit. You’ll learn how to write tests that reflect real operational workflows, investigate issues in deployed systems, and help make our software more robust at scale. This role will introduce you to the intersection of software engineering, automated testing, and quality assurance in a cloud-native environment. You’ll work with engineers across the team to understand systems end to end architecture and contribute to improvements that directly support space mission readiness.

Requirements

  • Experience with Python and Typescript (in coursework, projects, or personal work)
  • Familiarity with automated or end-to-end testing tools (e.g., Playwright, Cypress)
  • Basic understanding of Git and version control workflows
  • Exposure to APIs, services, or cloud concepts
  • Curious and detail-oriented—enjoys digging into how things work
  • Strong communicator; able to explain issues and ask good questions
  • Self-starter mindset; comfortable taking on tasks and learning independently
  • Enjoys collaboration across technical teams
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • Academic or personal experience with software testing, backend systems, automation, or quality assurance
  • Interest in distributed systems, cloud software, or mission-critical platforms

Responsibilities

  • Build automated tests and representative satellite operations simulations under guidance from senior engineers
  • Contribute to test suites that verify critical platform behavior
  • Help debug issues discovered in tests or in deployed systems
  • Document findings and collaborate with engineers on fixes
  • Understand how key parts of the platform behave (e.g., task execution, APIs, distributed services)
  • Translate that understanding into effective test scenarios
  • Help maintain and improve test automation infrastructure
  • Work with CI/CD tools to ensure short and long-running tests run reliably and provide clear feedback to developers
  • Partner with backend engineers, product managers, and peers to learn requirements, validate functionality, and align on quality goals

Benefits

  • Work in a cutting-edge industry and contribute to software that helps operate real satellites
  • Gain hands-on experience in a startup environment where your work matters every day
  • Strong emphasis on company culture and team wellbeing
