About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated software engineer intern to join our program for Summer 2026. You will work on a team that is the Lead System Integrator, responsible for engineering, hardware and software integration, test, deployment, and training. The software intern will support the software integration and test scrum team, gaining practical experience by applying software engineering skills learned in college. This is an onsite role at the RTX Sterling, VA, office, working onsite five days a week.

Requirements

This position is for a college summer intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and will be at minimum Junior year by summer 2026.
Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Experience using disciplined development processes in a team environment
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and leaders in a team environment
Participation in Raytheon’s Future Ready Engineers program or similar STEM talent development program

Responsibilities

You will be a member of the software integration and test scrum team, which is responsible for integrating and testing multiple software applications using automated test methods
Support the development and execution of automated test cases to test system requirements, using tools such as Python/Nifi/Playwright (automated functional and interface testing) and Jmeter (performance testing)
Actively participate in the project’s Agile process, including sprint planning, daily scrums, and end of sprint demonstrations and retrospectives
You will be working collaboratively onsite in our Sterling, VA facility.
