About The Position

An internship position at Teledyne FLIR will consist of supporting the engineering team during the innovation and development of embedded software for state-of-the-art EO/IR technology. This includes concept design, development, and implementation of software that covers areas from low level hardware driver implementation to high level algorithms for advanced image filters, web-based tools, cyber-security methodologies, or AI detection algorithms. This position will give exposure to the challenges associated with all phases of the software development lifecycle. In our team-based environment, you will work as a member of our engineering team and gain experience with various operating systems and programming languages while expanding your technical and professional skills in a real-world setting. Our interns are given meaningful work, support, and mentorship from experienced managers and key business leaders. You will have opportunities to gain knowledge and experience in a variety of ways by exploring projects and roles associated with your major and collaborating with multiple departments.

Requirements

  • Must be a current engineering student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate CS, CE, or related program
  • Proficient with C++, and one or more of Python, C#, Java script, HTML, and other web-design tools
  • Creative thinker that enjoys troubleshooting software and system problems
  • Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce

  • Independently work on a software project under the guidance of a mentor
  • Team player that works well within the Software Engineering group
  • Use reporting tools for presentation and discussion
  • Assist on new product builds and software testing
