Nationality Requirements Due to the nature of the programs we support, certain roles may require candidates to meet U.S. nationality requirements and be eligible to obtain a security clearance. Position Summary Working closely with program leads and system engineering, the Software Engineering Intern will support the development of the Radar System through design, development, and finally the integration and test events. This role will include significant development and testing of systems and test tools in addition to traditional software development activities. At Ultra Maritime the Software Engineer will have the opportunity to support the development and selection of key technologies for the Navy and will have the opportunity to work with complex software algorithms and cutting-edge digital signal processing hardware.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
- Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge of the use of third-party tools to do code coverage, memory leak, and other code integrity checks
- Knowledge or understanding of Qt programming
Responsibilities
- Development with a major object-oriented programming language such as C++ (preferred) and/or Java
- Use of proper coding practices through the development life cycle
- UML or other design modeling techniques
- Linux-based operating systems and code development
- Development using basic editors such as VI, emacs, Gedit, etc.
- Working with a team to jointly develop a system during all phases of the development lifecycle
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic
