About The Position

The Protected Communication Systems (PCS) Software (SW) Engineering Department has an opportunity for a talented Software Engineer Intern to join our team. Typical job functions for a Software Engineer Intern include participation, with direction from a Senior Software Engineer, on collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, often employing agile software development techniques and tools to plan, design, develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions. Responsibilities span the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design, through integration, test, and field support. This position offers an opportunity to work and learn in an engineering organization with the highest software engineering process maturity level, exposure to various development environments and tools, and collaboration with a dynamic group of engineers from a variety of disciplines. This will be an experience that will complement your education, past work experience and potentially lead to a long-term career at Collins Aerospace.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Software development experience (i.e. internship, co-op, or other work or academic project experience).
  • Experience with C++ or JAVA.
  • Proficient with general purpose computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.
  • Experience with software life cycle, Agile development, and/or configuration management.
