We are currently seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our Test Equipment Design team. Avionics Test Engineering designs, builds and supports an array of innovative test equipment solutions for Collins Aerospace Vision System products and programs. As a SW test engineering intern, you will work with an integrated test engineering team in developing, building and maintaining test solutions that are used to produce both military and commercial display systems and remote optical sensors. Typical test stations include components such as switch systems, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, DMM's, power supplies and other RF or digital related equipment that work in conjunction with optical test benches to provide test solutions for both design and manufacturing. This position is for a Software Engineering Co-Op with a passion to learn about and gain experience in the Aviation industry.

  • Collaborate with software engineers to design, develop, and test software applications.
  • Assist in the implementation of new features and enhancements.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving coding standards.
  • Debug and troubleshoot software issues, providing solutions and improvements.
  • Document development processes, code changes, and software architecture.
  • Engage with the team in meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project planning.
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Proficiency in C#: Solid understanding of C# programming language, including object-oriented principles and core .NET technologies.
  • Familiarity with .NET Framework/ASP.NET: Basic experience with .NET Framework or ASP.NET for applications and services.
  • Previous Software or Computer Engineering intern experience.
  • Basic knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN.
  • Demonstrated experience through academic projects or personal work involving C# and .NET technologies.
  • Knowledge of additional C# frameworks or libraries (e.g., Entity Framework, WPF).
