This position will support the design, development, testing and operational phases of projects undertaken at PERATON Labs, the research and development arm of PERATON corporation. This position requires the successful candidate to work closely with a diverse team of engineering, scientific and technical staff to develop novel solutions in support of such projects. The successful candidate will possess the ability to work semi-independently in a small multi-disciplinary team utilizing their experience to analyze, design and implement software systems. Additionally, developing software for embedded devices and modules to power, generate, and receive signals for prototypes and field-deployable systems is a critical component of this job. The ability to read, comprehend and generate professional quality design documentation as well as code is a required capability for this position.

  • Design, develop, and test Software for prototype and production systems
  • Provide hands-on work to test software, document, track and fix bugs
  • Develop and review design document packages that include Use Cases, Data Flow Diagrams, State Machine Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams and Test Plans
  • Develop embedded computing applications that include digital signal processing, critical system functions, internal fault handling, communications and hardware control
  • Provide expertise in software improvement analysis and refactoring as needed
  • Work within an Integrated Digital Engineering Environment that digitally threads, or links, models, requirements, simulations and test data
  • A degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering is required
  • BS with 2 or more years of experience or MS with 1 or more years of experience
  • Experience with software design and evaluation
  • Experience creating software to implement functional tests to meet system requirements and specs
  • Familiarity with compilers and code profiling
  • Experience with software version control tools such as GIT
  • Ability to communicate designs through presentations and supporting design material
  • Experience participating in and having designs reviewed in a formal setting
  • Skilled with C, C++, Python and debugging tools like GDB
  • Proficient in writing and reviewing technical documentation in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to be onsite five days a week when required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Experience with electrical or computer engineering
  • Experience with automating data collection and analysis using Python, and MATLAB + Simulink
  • Experience with in-depth analysis of software and signals for reverse engineering
  • Experience with DevSecOps environments and specifically with configuration management tools like Ansible
  • Salary range: $80,000 - $128,000
  • Eligibility for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay
