Veeco continues to grow and is looking for a Software Engineer to support our Software Engineering team in our Plainview, NY, location. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of work experience or an advanced degree in a related field is required.
  • Experience with C++ is a must.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of C# and/or VB is a plus.
  • Familiarity with modern software development practices (e.g. version control, issue tracking, code review, agile practices).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to quality design and detail oriented.
  • Experience developing software for Semiconductor or equivalent manufacturing equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Write and support C++ software by coding, debugging and testing application software.
  • Trace and modify existing code.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues on industrial systems.
  • Provide engineering level software support.
  • Implement intuitive user interfaces based on user feedback.
  • Identify and use other 3rd party software components as appropriate.
  • Work with testers, developers, and operations to help reproduce and solve field and internal issues in the application, network, and environment.
  • Work in an Agile/SCRUM environment using supporting tools.
  • Must be able to travel 10% domestically and internationally (when feasible).
