About The Position

This Software Engineer role involves designing, developing, and implementing software solutions, and solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. The position is engaged in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, architectural standards integration into design, documentation, translating technical requirements into programmed modules, and developing or enhancing software applications. The Consumer & Community Banking division serves Chase customers with personal banking, credit cards, mortgages, auto financing, investment advice, small business loans, and payment processing, leading in credit card sales, deposit growth, and digital solutions, and ranking first in customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 3 years (36 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years (60 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation.
  • Experience with building high-performance REST APIs and programs using Java and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience with implementing APIs based on architecture frameworks and guidelines.
  • Experience with developing software utilizing Spring and Spring Boot and Maven or Gradle to resolve application dependencies.
  • Experience with developing microservices using Spring Boot.
  • Experience with building applications utilizing JSON or XML formatted data files and service payloads for data transfer.
  • Experience with developing and maintaining dynamic and interactive dashboards using Tableau or Qlik Sense leveraging advanced visualization, ETL automation, and ODBC connectors.
  • Experience with automating the production of recurring reports and dashboards using ETL techniques including batch processing and data transformation.
  • Experience with performing data manipulation, data structuring, data design flow, and query optimization using programming languages including SQL.
  • Experience with monitoring API performance to ensure API is functioning optimally and meeting user expectations.
  • Experience with integrating new code into existing continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery and deployment (CD) pipelines.
  • Experience with utilizing Microservices, Containers, and Kubernetes for efficient API orchestration and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
  • Experience with integrating API orchestration to streamline interactions and enable more complex functionalities using SOA framework to build distributed systems with modular services, and stream with Kafka to enable real-time data processing across those systems.
  • Experience with using API development tools including J2EE, JUnit, GIT, JSON, Apache JMeter, and Docker, and API security and authentication mechanisms to support the entire lifecycle of API development, from coding and testing to deployment and securing the API against threats.

  • Be involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules.
  • Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues.
  • Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications.
  • Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows.
  • Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
