About The Position

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and management of application development projects. You will provide technical support to project team members and communicate effectively with both the team and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are clearly understood. You will report to the development team lead and work in a fast-paced R&D environment that requires a high degree of creativity and latitude. This position requires staff to be in-person at the USPS Engineering Merrifield, VA client site with the requirements of the contract five (5) days per week. Requirements

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or similar
  • 2-5 years of experience
  • U.S. citizen / green card with 3+ years of U.S. residency
  • Contingent on ability to obtain and maintain a public trust
  • Proficiency with:
  • One or more programming languages: .NET(C#), Java
  • Software architecture principles and patterns
  • Object-oriented design and development
  • Multithreading principles
  • Relational Databases and SQL (preferably Oracle)
  • Git / TFS source control management systems
  • Software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies
  • XML & JSON
  • Unit testing

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft Entity Framework
  • Microsoft Windows system, e.g. Win10
  • Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)
  • UI interface design technologies (eg, speech recognition, text to speech)
  • Understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices
  • Section 508 compliant UI design
  • Hardware driver development experience is a plus
