About The Position

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Joint Training Synthetic Environment (JTSE) program. In this role, you will design and develop advanced software solutions used to support critical training systems for the Joint Staff. Requirements

  • 2 years experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of programming fundamentals, including object oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
  • Experience developing, testing, and debugging software application
  • Familiarity with modern development environments and source control tools (e.g., Git)
  • Ability to follow established coding standards and development processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self motivated with the ability to succeed with minimal direction
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of C++/C# in a Visual Studio environment.
  • Good software debugging skills.
  • Experience with Docker for packaging terrain generation services, ensuring reproducible builds and environments, and isolating dependences for simulation pipelines.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug application software and systems
  • Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with hardware engineers and equipment designers
  • Analyze user needs and system capabilities to resolve issues related to program intent, inputs, outputs, and controls
  • Prepare operating instructions and develop compilers, assemblers, utilities, and operating systems
  • Produce well written code aligned with established coding standards
  • Execute test procedures, document results, and correct identified issues
  • Document cold starts and develop software for new and updated virtual environment courses
