This position is 100% remote anywhere in the US.
Overview:
As a Software Engineer at Precisely, you will design, develop, and maintain software components ranging from simple to highly complex. You will leverage strong technical skills to deliver high‑quality software, documentation, and training materials that meet customer needs and support product stability and growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• 2 to 8 years of relevant experience
• You have experience with the following programming languages: C, CL and SQL
• You have the ability to analyze simple to moderate programming problems and create algorithms and programming solutions.
• You have strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of IBM system i
• Knowledge of High Availability concepts and Precisely IBM i High Availability products
• IBM i programming experience
• IBM DB2 knowledge
• Java and CL knowledge a plus
• Ability to effectively program for IBM i performance critical applications

Responsibilities

• Develop high‑quality software using Precisely’s established development processes, tools, and best practices.
• Participate in team‑based design and code reviews to identify issues early in the development lifecycle.
• Estimate the effort required for small to moderate development tasks.
• Take proactive steps to anticipate and prevent customer‑impacting issues.
• Deliver technical presentations to colleagues, customers, and partners as needed.
• Diagnose and debug software issues using appropriate tools and techniques to identify root causes efficiently.
• Document and present software functionality, designs, and implementation details for internal review.
• Meet delivery timelines and contribute reliably to project commitments.Provide daily status updates during agile stand‑ups and collaborate effectively with the Scrum team.
