As a Software Engineer at S5 Analytics, you will be an integral part of our team, driving architecture design and implementation of highly valuable, data rich software applications. Your engineering expertise will be required through all phases of the development process including designing, developing, and implementing frontend and backend software for a complex web application translating software requirements into working and maintainable solutions within the existing application frameworks and will contribute to the success of our government customer's mission. You will demonstrate a high level of self-initiative and responsibility in your work, embodying the qualities of a self-starter and a reliable professional.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required
  • Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering or a related discipline
  • 2+ years of Java, C#, C++ or Python
  • 2+years of Javascript or Typescript experience
  • Experience with React, Docker, Spring Boot or .NET
  • Proficiency working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL or MongoDB)
  • Experience with DevSecOps and Agile Scrum software development methodology including using tools like Git, Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies including Kubernetes, Docker/Podman, and Helm, with familiarity operating workloads in enterprise or cloud-managed Kubernetes platforms (e.g., OpenShift, Rancher, EKS).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AWS, Kubernetes
  • Experience with Government Clouds (e.g. GovCloud, C2S)
  • An understanding of common geospatial data architectures, visualization, and data analytics

Responsibilities

  • Managing the complete software development process from conception to deployment
  • Maintaining and upgrading the software following deployment
  • Managing the end-to-end life cycle for the production of software and applications
  • Overseeing and guiding the analyzing, writing, building, and deployment of software
  • Overseeing the automated testing and providing feedback to management during the development process
  • Modifying and testing changes to previously developed programs
