About The Position

As a Software Design Engineer, you will work under the guidance of a lead engineer while on track toward owning major components. You are an important team player who works with minimal supervision, assists in design decisions, and establishes yourself as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) over time. The Storage and Infrastructure team is the heart of Docusign, serving as the foundation for how customers store and interact with their most critical data. Our team provides a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and collaborative environment where you will have opportunities to mentor peers, model engineering best practices, and improve team processes. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director, Engineering – Infrastructure and Storage Systems.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science or a similar field.
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience building/operating cloud-native microservices and APIs at scale
  • Experience with SQL (Azure SQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (Cosmos DB)
  • Experience with telemetry, monitoring, and incident response best practices

Nice To Haves

  • Expert-level knowledge of C#, .NET, and ASP.NET
  • Deep experience with broader cloud computing solutions and infrastructure-as-code

Responsibilities

  • Ensure industry-leading security, performance, availability, and durability for global agreement data
  • Build the essential infrastructure that enables seamless user experiences and ensures absolute data consistency across all storage scenarios
  • Unlock product innovation and business growth by developing scalable storage solutions that empower AI, BI, and next-generation agreement management
  • Focus on developing storage infrastructure (Blob, NoSQL, SQL) to facilitate global business growth
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance systems and APIs using C# and .NET
  • Leverage Azure (App Services, AKS, Blob Storage, SQL/No-SQL) to build scalable and reliable services
  • Build microservices-based architectures and implement RESTful or gRPC APIs
  • Identify proactively performance bottlenecks and optimize for scalability and cost-efficiency
  • Align across teams for designs and communicate effectively to resolve technical roadblocks
