About The Position

Software Engineer ITnova is seeking a Software Engineer to design, development, implementation, and maintenance of software applications and systems. This position supports system functionality, performance, and reliability in accordance with contract and technical requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or another related scientific or technical discipline or Three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.
  • Three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer.
  • At least two (2) years of experience working with Ada, SQL, or third/fourth generation programming languages in the design and implementation of systems.
  • At least one (1) year of experience working with Database Management Systems (DBMS).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting and maintaining CCTV, Security Systems, Access Control Systems, Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems, Emergency Call Systems, and Audio/Visual systems.
  • Preferred Certifications (any of the following s or in the process of obtaining any of these certifications:) Schlage Offline Electronic Access Control Solutions (SE210).
  • Genetec Certified Professional.
  • Axis Certified Professional.
  • Sony Camera System Maintenance Course/Certification.
  • Axis Camera System Maintenance Course/Certification.
  • SightLogix Camera System Maintenance Course/Certification.
  • Cisco certifications, including: Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), including CCNP Voice & Security
  • Microsoft Server Certification.
  • Fiber Installer Certification, including: Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
  • Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and high-yield Explosives (CBRNE) Certification through Mine Safety Appliances (MSA).

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and system components.
  • Support system implementation and integration activities.
  • Develop and execute unit, integration, and system-level testing.
  • Work with Database Management Systems (DBMS) to support application functionality and data integrity.
  • Troubleshoot software defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare technical documentation and support system maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with engineers, system administrators, and project staff as required.
