About The Position

This role is within our Healthgrades business, on a team responsible for maintaining our Content Management System and building technology to enable our editorial and marketing teams to publish and distribute Healthgrades content and search results for broader audiences. Engineers on this team work to ensure that we are able to deliver content across syndicated sites efficiently and reliably, so that users are empowered with information about health conditions and easily connected with top providers to get the care they need. As a member of our team, you’ll work closely with software and data engineering teams across the Healthgrades business to implement solutions and drive meaningful results across the platform by ensuring that enhancements to Healthgrades are distributed across our network of syndicate sites and partnerships to reach a broad audience. An ideal candidate is a seasoned engineer with full stack experience that includes modern Javascript web frameworks, Java, and experience working with custom Content Management System implementations. You will develop application code hands-on and collaborate with the team members and stakeholders to define innovative digital solutions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years full stack web development experience: Javascript, Java
  • 1+ years experience developing for and deploying to a cloud platform, preferably AWS
  • Experience designing systems with an emphasis on performance, scalability, accessibility, and responsiveness
  • Ability to scope and prioritize tasks on complex technical projects.
  • Curiosity and growth mindset to learn new technologies to solve interesting problems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop product features in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders
  • Ensure that all delivered solutions adhere to industry best practices for scalability, maintainability, usability, availability, extensibility, security, and portability
  • Ensure high quality deliverables by demonstrating leadership in code reviews and test practices
  • Be aware of current security trends and tools, and advocate for the incorporation of new security technologies as requirements evolve
  • Champion well-written code and technical documentation
  • Work with product owners, product managers, and other stakeholders to groom & solution features
  • Provide accurate and timely estimates for features, user stories, and tasks
  • Work with geographically distributed Agile teams
  • Participate in rotational on-call schedules as needed
