About The Position

Mission Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Joint Training Synthetic Environment (JTSE) and JLVC Modernization efforts under the Joint Staff J7 contract. This role contributes directly to advancing next generation modeling and simulation capabilities across Joint, Live, Virtual, and Constructive (JLVC) environments.

Requirements

  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with senior government and military stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate complex environments and meet deadlines.
  • Critical thinking skills with a focus on innovative problem solving.
  • Experience developing in a Linux environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Confluence, Jira, and Git.
  • Proficiency in Java and JavaScript.
  • Understanding of NodeJS and ReactJS.
  • Working knowledge of C++/C# within Visual Studio.
  • Strong debugging skills.
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with M&S systems, LVC architectures, or government/military training environments.
  • Experience integrating LVC solutions and simulation interoperability tools.
  • Background with live training ranges, networks, or Joint LVC systems.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams supporting Joint training modernization.
  • Knowledge of networking and multi-domain integration techniques.
  • Proven ability to propose innovative solutions to complex training challenges.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software components for the JNKE PSF Effects Server and related simulation systems.
  • Build algorithms and data processing pipelines that transform Non Kinetic Effects (NKE) and MSEL injects into interoperable simulation outputs.
  • Develop and integrate modules aligned with JLVC Federation Object Models (FOMs).
  • Engineer and maintain data models to support enhanced NKE simulation needs.
  • Ensure interoperability across distributed simulation environments using HLA, DIS, and SISO standards.
  • Collaborate with Space, EMS, and Cyber domain experts to structure data for simulation use.
  • Support integration of the SISO Cyber Data Exchange Model within the simulation framework.
  • Perform verification and validation of data models, interfaces, and simulation outputs.
  • Optimize systems for scalability, reliability, and real time performance.
  • Participate in architecture design reviews, documentation, and technical discussions.
  • Provide technical support during integration events, tests, and operational demonstrations.
