About The Position

The iCloud Platform team powers the Apple device ecosystem, integrating cloud services like CloudKit, Apple Push Notification service, and QuickRelay into operating systems. This integration ensures industry-leading privacy for customers, enabling features such as Advanced Data Protection and Private Cloud Compute. The platform provides managed storage, messaging, and compute, making it easier for teams across Apple to build new experiences and access billions of devices globally. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to this mission, working with teams passionate about engineering and delivering features with strong privacy guarantees. The Apple Game services team is looking for an engineer passionate about games to power experiences in the Apple Games app and GameKit features like Leaderboard, Achievements, and Multiplayer. The goal is to simplify game development and provide rich experiences for developers. With the launch of Apple Games and Arcade, Apple is redefining gaming, and as a member of this team, you will make games more engaging and fun for players by building and designing a large-scale distributed cloud gaming platform.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience developing and operating production services in Java
  • Strong design skills; familiar with algorithms & data structures
  • Experience with Distributed Systems or Database Internals
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with client-server application development
  • Experience working on applications that power end user experiences
  • Game development experience
  • Experience in driving large cross functional projects that require stakeholders alignments
  • NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, FoundationDB
  • Great teammate; you’re articulate, and you can explain complex concepts to anybody.
  • Persistence and investigative spirit; you won’t let go of a problem or requirement until you understand it, inside and out; you can lead a project from the definition to its successful deployment
