To support this mission, OSIT has embarked on a multi-year modernization journey, within which the Software Engineer will play a key role: working within our legacy application as we update it to a cloud-native platform which follows modern design standards. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or related field or related field or 4 years’ relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 2+ years of experience in:
  • Full lifecycle of software development projects in an agile environment
  • Hands-on technical expertise in building web applications and RESTful web services
  • MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or other similar relational database management system
  • .NET Core or similar object oriented programming language
  • Angular, React, or other JavaScript frameworks / libraries
  • DevOPS experience
  • Experience building deployment packages using Dockers , ARGO CD, etc.
  • Experience in building/setting CICD Pipelines either by using Jenkins or Github Actions
  • Experience in deploying into environments
  • Experience in solving vulnerabilities and code quality issues running through tools like twist lock/sonar, etc.
  • Experience in working with Terraform scripts & CDK8s
  • Experience in defining and setting the Infra needs for the APP, ex: number of pods and CPU memory for each pod, etc.
  • Experience with Domain Driven Design
  • Experience with Event Driven Architecture
  • Experience with application containerization, deployment, and orchestration across environments
  • Experience with CI/CD and test automation
  • Experience building cloud-native applications in Azure or similar cloud service provider
  • Proven basic understanding and ability to troubleshoot applications running within Kubernetes
  • Proven basic understanding of cloud infrastructure and automated provisioning & configuration management
  • Ability to develop on a Mac

Nice To Haves

  • Proven basic understanding of networking and internet protocols
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Encryption, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), understanding of OWASP
  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Designs, codes, tests and debugs applications and components that meet all technical specifications and business requirements per assigned work items
  • Collaborates closely with stakeholders, product owners, and feature team on developing requirements
  • Refines business requirements into technical solutions, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
  • Perform code reviews
  • Operational Excellence – build, deploy, monitor, and operation of production services
  • Communicates effectively with business stakeholders and technical team
  • Mentors junior software engineers
